GeniusPrep™ is a tutoring center located at 928 Broadway, Suite #1206, New York, NY 10010. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, and protect personal information when you visit our website at geniusprep.com or use our services.
What you send us through the contact form. Your name, your email address, your phone number if you choose to give one, your message, and the one-line answer to "I'm a…" if you fill it in. With it we record two technical details: the IP address the message was sent from, and a single word describing how you reached the site, such as whether you arrived from our Google listing, from a search engine, or by typing the address directly. Everything on that list is stored in our own database and emailed to the tutoring center so we can answer you.
Anonymous counts of what visitors do. We count a small number of actions on the site: tapping the phone number, clicking an email link, clicking a "Book" or pricing button, using the Regents score tool, and sending a form. For each one we store three things — which kind of action it was, a short label for the button, and the address of the page. We do not store your IP address with these counts, we do not give you an identifier, and we do not set a cookie for them. They tell us how many people clicked a button. They cannot tell us who did.
Checks against automated submissions. When a form is sent we compare the sending IP address against the public list of Tor exit nodes, we look at a hidden field that a person never sees, and we look at how quickly the form was completed. If any of these suggests an automated submission, the message is kept but marked, and nobody is notified. The result of the check is stored alongside the message. The IP address is also held in memory for a few seconds to limit how often the same source can send, and is not kept for that purpose.
Storage in your browser. One entry, holding the single word that records how you reached the site. It lives in session storage, which your browser erases when you close the tab, and it is sent to us only if you choose to submit the form. There are no advertising cookies, no analytics cookies, and no third-party trackers on this site.
What we do not do. We do not run any third-party analytics product. We do not build a profile of your visit, we do not follow you across other websites, and we do not sell, rent, or trade your information.
Contact form submissions are stored on servers we control, reachable only by the people who run GeniusPrep, and are kept as long as we may still need them to serve you or to answer a question about your account. You can ask us to delete yours sooner. The anonymous action counts are not linked to you and are kept as aggregate figures.
